*SENTENCE COMBINATION*

Learning to combine ideas into more complex sentences is an important writing skill. There are many ways to do this. Try to combine the following three sentences. Do not use a semi-colon.

Sentence 1: The world is uncertain.
Sentence 2: In this world, we cannot cannot know what the future will bring.
Sentence 3: We must be prepared for any eventuality.

1- In this world, we cannot cannot know what the future will bring because this world is uncertain, so we must be prepared for any eventuality.

2- This world is uncertain, and in this world we cannot know what the future will bring, therefore, we must be prepared for any eventuality.

3- Being that this world is uncertain and we cannot know what the future will bring, we must be prepared for any eventuality.

4- We must be prepared for any eventuality because this world is uncertain, and in this world, we cannot know what the future will bring.

Some good attempts there, Brad!

How about this one:

"In this uncertain world, we cannot know what the future will bring and must be prepared for any eventuality."

Notice how smoothly we can combine the first sentence as a modifier?
